Hello everyone out in blog land, yes, we are still alive. We've both been kicking ourselves for months over not blogging, but have also found a familiar pattern. A lot of new parents go through a 'cloud', if you will, of neglecting their blogs. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying we made it ok by realizing we werent the only ones lol. Hopefully putting some pictures up will make up a little for our wrongs, lol.
I think I'll start with the new and work backwards. I hope that people are still coming here to look from time to time to see if there's anything new, or subscribe. It's been so long that the email advising of a new entry would probably go to spam lol. I'm so sorry that it's been so long. Onward and upward....
We're working on getting Jen pregnant. Yes. We had inseminated back in May, but decided to really think some things through when it didnt take. The combination of already being exhausted from having a newborn, life in general and then navigating the emotions of TTC again, were just too much. So, we took a moment. A moment to get adjusted and talk about reality. And here we are. We're looking at inseminating between Wednesday and Sunday. I (Michelle) also noticed that a lot of other bloggers we got to know are either TTC'ing right now or pregnant with number two. It makes us feel like we're back at the starting line last May when Addison was born. So, we're back on the ride, and I have to say, I really hope that this one doesnt take two and a half years. Jen has never been pregnant, so maybe her body will soak up the opportunity to be fertile :)
We traveled a lot this year. We've been to South Dakota and back twice already. Jen and Addison went to Texas. We've been to Arizona, and in three weeks, we're off to Texas again. This next year we'll get to wind down a bit. Family's coming to see us for the month of February and Addison's birthday and then we dont travel again until July. Whew!
I've been home this whole time with Addison. Well, I worked for the two weeks they were in Texas just to make a little extra money. We're very fortunate in our line of work to get a lot of time off. Unpaid, but, when it comes to your child, as long as you're making it, does it matter? We really dont want to send her to daycare. It makes me sick to my stomach to think of it. We're hoping that one of the many options we have hanging in the air right now will come to fruition and one of us will be able to stay home for good. For now though, I'm home and probably until February of next year.
And Addison. Oh, our perfect little red headed crazy person! She is the joy and light of our lives. Exhausted, frustrated, whatever kind of negative mood either of us may be having, is instantly cured by her smile. She is the best thing we've ever done together. I look at her and I cant imagine loving her more, and then I do. I fully expect my heart to explode at any time. Her one year birthday is right around the corner, but I'm not even trying to realize the full spectrum of that right now. She's crawling and babbling and I keep telling her, "You just stay a baby for as long as you want". I think sometimes, she hears me. She's a go getter though, and pretty much gives the look of, "Aint nothin' slowin' me down". Sigh. We have two bottom teeth, curly red hair coming in thicker every day, and numbers off the charts. She's in the 100th plus percentile for children in her category. Lol.
We've really missed everyone out in blogland. Unbelievable that little Jude is 18 months!!! When did that happen??? She's beautiful :) And Bonus Ball, wow! We love how he has a daily photo blog. You think it would slow down the appearance of getting older, but he just keeps getting bigger. Oh, and little Lachlan. Our handsome little man. Your mommy's and these mommy's almost have the dowry deal worked out. You're such an amazing little guy. We cant wait to meet you all soon :) Kylie, Andrew, Simone, it's just really amazing watching everyone grow. And, we're so happy to see that Simone is so healthy. She's really a joy to see :)
Well, I'll cut this short at this point. I'm going to make an effort to do one quality blog entry a week. Two or more would be great, but life is what it is and probably wont allow for more then that right now. I hope that this finds everyone more then well and we look forward to getting back in touch. Love to all, Jen, Michelle and Addison :)
