That's my story and I'm stickin' to it...

Hi BlogLand. Michelle here. So, this was our OPK this morning. This could be a really good thing. We knew that Jen was getting close because the lines on yesterday's test were starting to come in, and, it matched up with the tracking we'd been doing. It just wasnt enough to register yet. However, we inseminated anyway, because, our donor was leaving town. And, here's the story with our donor. The attempted collection of a sample the day before yesterday was a bust. Apparently, he had performance anxiety. He says tired. Ok, we'll go with tired. So, no insemination. However, yesterday's insemination was successful and we got a fairly large amount. Enough to do two separate syringes, one with just a sample, and then about a half with a little saline to catch any stragglers or leftovers.

We're hoping that it was perfect timing. I got the sample and literally ran out of the house because it's a 20 minute drive from his house back to Jen's parents house. I put the sample in my bra to try to keep it at body temperature. I got this little nugget (the body heat, not the bra part) from Chronicles of Conception. Thanks ladies. I started the timer and called Jen so that she could have everything ready when I came running in the door. It took me 21 minutes to get there. We had her inseminated within ten minutes.

Our donor's motility is high, around 60 million. Doing my fertility flexi-math, I figure, we lost a little on transport, a little on the insem, a little outside of the cervix and a few on the way to the fallopian tubes. But, it's like Jen says, we only need one to make it. So, we're starting the dreaded 2WW now. I forgot how hard it is not to get excited. I'm really excited. I'm trying to switch to just hopeful, but, other then the one missed insem on Wednesday, everything seems to have fallen into line perfectly. So, cross your fingers everyone! :)

I've been wanting to get pictures of how very blue Addison's eyes are, but havent been able to until now. You dont see a lot of red headed, blue eyed babys, and her eyes are so pretty. So, here are a few pictures....

So, here's what the day brought us. Negative on the OPK. However, we know that Jen is due to ovulate between tomorrow and Sunday. Our situation is delicate. Our donor leaves tomorrow night for a one week trip. We leave this weekend for home and wont be back here until September. We all know that sperm lives for 48-72 hrs if you're lucky. We call our donor's sperm super sperm because it's motility is around 60 million with a fresh donation.

With the opportunity to get some megga sperm while we're here, we decided not to pass it up. Jen's getting inseminated today and tomorrow. Our hope is that the megga sperm will give us a window of today through Sunday. High hopes we know, but isnt that what keeps us all trying? Cross your fingers for us and as of Saturday, we'll be in our first 2WW in a year. Wow. :)

In the Land of OPK's

Hi Everyone, Michelle here. It's 1am, Jen and Addie are sleeping, and I must be nuts to be up, but my brain is going a million miles an hour, so what better time to blog I ask? We're in our last week here in South Dakota. It's been really nice being here, and so much has happened. We found out that as soon as we get home, we're moving. This is especially funny considering that the day we left, we had decided to stay where we were at. We had been looking for a slightly larger place with air conditioning because last summer was hell without air. After looking at a lot of crummy places though, we just decided to stay put for a while.

Of course, only a few days after getting to SD, we get an email from the landlady who owned/owns the first place Jen and I ever lived together. She said that our old place was vacant and did we know anyone who might be interested? Lol. Long story short, she was excited, we were excited, we sent a check, and she sent our new lease. We gave our 30 day notice and began frantic long distance preparations for moving as soon as we get home. I hate moving, but we both loved this place, it has air, is on the ground floor, has much more space and is less then a mile from where we're currently at. So, here we go.

On to something more interesting and familiar to everyone. We started tracking Jen's cycles last month and about four days ago, started the OPK's. Here we go, starting the ride all over again. We leave for home next weekend and decided that even if she doesnt surge by then, we'll inseminate and cross our fingers and legs for the 48 hr window. Our donor is the same one we used for Addison and he leaves for training on Friday, so we're really cutting it close.

If Jen gets pregnant, she would be getting pregnant right about the same time that I did last year. It's all so crazy. Sometimes I think we must be crazy. When you're exhausted from being up every two hours for months straight, you momentarily question your sanity. But, then you remember that it's all worth it. Or, Addison shoots me that amazing smile and I know why we're doing it again. Without question.

OPK's, PT's, HPT's, 2WW's. I swear that someone should make fertility a certified second language. You know, FSL, like ESL. Even though I know how this can go or not go, I have really high hopes for Jen getting pregnant right away. Coming from someone who had a 2 and a half year run with trying to get pregnant, this is surprising to me. Maybe it's because we're starting from where we were ending our last journey. Maybe it's because I would love to be on the other end of the pregnancy and just want to be on with it all.

Instead of putting Jen on all the meds etc, we're starting with the megga sperm and home insems. If this one doesnt take, we'll be back in September for another try. I'm really hoping that this one takes though. Cross your fingers.....

I think that that's it for now. I cant wait to get the move done with so I can catch up on everyone's blogs and touch base again. I hope that you're all doing great and I'll leave you with the cute baby pictures that we all search for....
